Thank you for considering adoption first!!  Wish Upon a Rescue has dogs and cats available for adoption.  We believe that all of these animals deserve a second chance at a forever home, regardless of breed, age or physical ability.  These animals come to Wish Upon a Rescue for a variety of reasons, and we will be sure to share with you all of the factual information we have on each pet prior to adoption. Almost all of our animals come to us from our local animal control facilities after being found stray or as an owner surrender to the shelter, with a small number surrendered directly to WISH by their previous owners in very specific circumstances. But don’t worry, no matter how these animals found safety at Wish Upon a Rescue, they are all ready to brighten your life. They are WISHING on every star, for their forever families, and they are working hard in their foster homes to learn how to be the best dog or cat in town!

When adopting an animal, you will be saving at least two lives: One life, of your newly adopted family member and a second life by opening up a space in a foster home for Wish Upon a Rescue to save another animal.

Requirements for adoption:

• Primary adopter must be at least 21 years old

• Must have a government issued ID

• All household members need to be in agreement with the adoption

• Have the time and resources required to properly care for your new pet

• Fill out application and complete an interview with an Adoption Counselor

• If required for the specific animal, allow a home for introduction to the home, all family members, and any furry friends living in your residence

• Live within 100 miles of Downers Grove, IL
